Troop Guide
As Troop Guide of the Westark Area Council's Troop 214, I will be especially mindful of conducting myself by the Scout Oath, Scout Law, Scout Motto and Scout Slogan.
I will lead by example, and I make these commitments to my fellow Scouts, the Scoutmasters, and myself. I will:
  1. Report my activities and progress to the Scoutmaster at least once per month;

  2. Accept an assignment from the Scoutmaster of a set of specific new scouts to whom I will provide guidance;

  3. Bring my Scout Handbook to meetings and come prepared to help the SPL with any task associated with running the meeting;

  4. Counsel these new scouts on Scouting, help them feel comfortable and earn their First Class rank in their first year of Scouting, by explaining what they need to do to advance and benefit from Scouting;

  5. Offer assistance to Patrol Leaders on outings with issues of Patrol management;

  6. Help new scouts have fun and teach them new skills on campouts;

  7. Talk with each first year scout at least once a month during his first year of Scouting about his Scouting experience and advancement;

  8. At the request of the Scoutmaster, fulfill any requested responsibilities associated with teaching skill to Scouts;

  9. Attend Troop Youth Leader training as specified by the Scoutmaster;

  10. Attend at least 75% of all troop meetings and Patrol Leader Councils during my tenure as Assistant Troop Guide;

  11. Attend at least 50% of all troop outings and service projects during my tenure as Assistant Troop Guide;

  12. Attend, be on time and ready for meetings and Troop activities, and tell the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) as soon as I know that I canít make a meeting or event;

  13. Wear the proper uniform at Troop meetings and events;

  14. Have fun and help other scouts have fun too!

  15. Set an appointment with the Scoutmaster when nearing the end of my tenure as Assistant Troop Guide to review my success in meeting the commitments set forth in this position contract.

I understand that I will receive FULL leadership credit if I follow the above stated commitments. I may only receive partial credit if the above commitments are not met.
