 Cool morning for Troop 214 at Spring Lake. Even in mid-May, the temperature barely reached 52°F!

To learn the technique to paddle, the boys get on their knees to have a closer to reality experience. Mr. T. explains that the whole upper body should twist when paddling. Everybody is paired and Mr. T. now explains and demonstrates the techniques learned earlier. Kris and Yoshio show their knowledge. Brayden and Liam in a canoe. After our first go on the water, we warm up by the needed fire (in mid-May...). After a quick lunch, Mr. T. explains the good reasons to know the bowline and two half-hitches when going canoeing.
